PU SCIENCE COMBINATIONS

Taking PUC in science stream will lead you to the basic pure science or an applied science course. The two years course is available in combinations like Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Biology/ Computer Science etc. These combinations are a must for taking up science subjects at the graduate level.

The opportunities in the science stream are:

In the medical profession : MBBS / BHMS (Homeopathy)/ BNYS (Naturopathy and Yoga)/ BAMS (Ayurveda)/ BUMS (Unani Medicine) / Dental Sciences, Graduate in Paramedical sciences like Nursing, Physical, Occupational, Speech Therapists and Audiologists, Physiotherapist, Lab technicians, Medical Transcription, Medical Technologists - Radiographers & Optometrists Pharmacy, Veterinary Science etc.

Graduate in Engineering areas like Mechanical, Civil, Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Telecommunication, Industrial, Material Sciences, Mining, Architecture, Construction Management, textile, Shipping Industry, Packing, Aviation, Navy, etc. Career in Science like graduate in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Geology, Computer Sciences, Biological Scientists/Microbiologist/Biotechnology/Genetic/Bioinformatics/Biochemistry, Forensic Chemistry, Home Science, Nutritionists and Dieticians, Food technology, Agriculture, Horticulture, Environment Science, Fishery, Forestry, Wild life, Oceanography, Forensic Science Anthropology etc.

PU COMMERCE COMBINATION

The two year course is available in many combinations with subjects like Economics, Business Studies, Business Math, Accountancy, Computer Science, Statistics, History, Geography, Commerce etc. These subjects are taken as per the combinations offered by the colleges. Commerce subjects are an open window to fields like Accountancy, Marketing and Business Management.

These are some avenues for commerce students:

The opportunity to take up Commerce in Graduate courses (B Com). There are many combinations available. For example, Accounting and Information group, Finance group, Computer Science group, Economics, Sales and Distribution group, Human Resource group, Export Management, Insurance group and taxation group, International Business etc. You could decide the most interesting topics and shortlist them for your course. Computer application courses like BCA are another option.

The wide application of computer programs in finance and management provides many job opportunities. Business Management is another area where commerce students can pursue their graduate courses. Example BBA and later MBA. Pursuing Law and other fields by taking up integrated Law programs after II PUC; this could be done by students from other streams as well. The major specializations in the Commerce stream are: Chartered Accountancy, Cost & Management Accountants, Insurance / Financial Planners, Company Secretary, Banking Sector, ICWA Law and related options, Health & Hospital Management, Technology Management and Personnel Management.
